Abstract of a retrospective review of the records of 177 patients with surgically staged IIIA (N2) NSCLC that investigated the patterns of recurrence. In the study population, the brain was the most common site of failure and thus, recommendation is made for future studies that focus on prophylaxis of brain metastases as a method for improving outcome in patients with stage III NSCLC.
